How to delete your account, and exactly what happens to your data
Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and your pending pre-mainnet UNC balance. Mined balances cannot be restored, transferred to another account, or recovered after deletion — not by you and not by us. If you only want to stop receiving notifications, you can turn those off in the app instead.
Your account is disabled immediately — you will be signed out and will not be able to sign back in. Erasure of the data listed below is completed within 30 days.
If you have uninstalled the app, cannot sign in, or would simply rather not use it, email us and we will delete your account for you. You do not need the app installed to make this request.
Send an email to privacy@unctech.co with the subject “Account deletion request”, sent from the email address registered to your account, and include your UNC username.
We ask you to write from your registered address so we can confirm the request is really yours — we are not going to delete somebody's balance on an unverified say-so. We confirm receipt within 3 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days. There is no charge, and you do not have to give a reason.
We would rather tell you this plainly than let you discover it later. A small amount of data survives deletion because the law requires it, not because we want it:
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Identity verification (eKYC) records | Anti-money-laundering law requires us to keep verification evidence after an account closes. | Five years from deletion, then erased. |
| Transaction and ledger records | Financial audit obligations. These are retained against your wallet address rather than your name once your profile is erased. | As required by applicable financial record-keeping law. |
| On-chain records, once mainnet is live | A public blockchain cannot be edited or erased by anyone, including us. This is worth understanding before mainnet launches. | Permanent, and outside anyone’s control. |
Email privacy@unctech.co about anything on this page. Our Privacy Policy covers the rest of your rights over your data, including access, correction and export.
