Terms of Service

Daily UNC sessions are not computational mining. They confirm a real person is active. Pre-mainnet UNC are pending balances that may have no monetary value and convert 1:1 to on-chain UNC only if and when mainnet launches. Nothing here is financial or investment advice, and no return is promised. If those three facts are not acceptable to you, please do not use the Service.

1. Agreement

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and the UNC Foundation ("UNC", "we", "us") covering the UNC mobile app, unctech.co, and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to do so.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract.
  • You must not be a resident of, or located in, a jurisdiction where using the Service is prohibited, nor appear on any applicable sanctions list.
  • You are responsible for checking that your use complies with the law where you live. Participation may be restricted in some countries, including where token distribution is regulated as a securities offering.

3. One account per person

UNC is built on proof of personhood, so this rule is the foundation of the whole network rather than an administrative preference. You may hold exactly one account, verified to your own identity. You may not create additional accounts, use another person's identity documents, sell or transfer your account, or automate participation through scripts, emulators, or modified clients.

Accounts found to be duplicates or automated are suspended, and any pending balances associated with them may be forfeited. We publish this plainly because it is the mechanism that protects everyone else's share.

4. Verification (eKYC)

Access to certain features requires identity verification. You agree to provide accurate documents and to update them when they change. Submitting forged or altered documents results in permanent suspension. Verification is handled by a certified third-party provider; see our Privacy Policy for how those documents are handled and retained.

5. What pre-mainnet balances are

  • Pre-mainnet UNC are pending allocations recorded in our systems, not on a live blockchain.
  • They may have no monetary value, and we do not promise that they ever will.
  • They are intended to convert 1:1 to on-chain UNC at mainnet genesis. Mainnet timing may change for technical, legal, or market reasons.
  • Balances obtained through fraud, automation, or duplicate accounts may be adjusted or removed.
  • Exchange listings are not guaranteed and are outside our control.

6. Your security obligations

Some of what keeps your account safe is ours to build, and some is yours to do. You agree to:

  • Use a password you do not use on any other service.
  • Keep your password, wallet PIN, and 2FA codes to yourself. We will never ask you for them, and any message that does is a scam.
  • Nominate Trust Circle contacts you genuinely know, since they are how you recover a lost account.
  • Tell us promptly at security@unctech.co if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.
  • Verify every recipient address before sending. On-chain transfers are irreversible and we cannot recover funds sent to the wrong address.

What we do on our side is set out on the Security page.

7. Prohibited conduct

You may not use the Service to:

  • Operate multiple or automated accounts, or manipulate mining rates or referral rewards
  • Launder money, finance terrorism, or evade sanctions
  • Probe, scan, or attack our infrastructure outside the responsible-disclosure terms on our Security page
  • Reverse-engineer or tamper with the app, or interfere with other users' access
  • Impersonate UNC, its staff, or another user, or run scams and phishing against the community
  • Upload unlawful, abusive, or infringing content

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these Terms, that we are legally required to act against, or that shows clear signs of fraud or automation. Except where a legal obligation or an active investigation prevents it, we will tell you why, and you may appeal by contacting support. You may close your account at any time; the retention periods in the Privacy Policy still apply to records we are required to keep.

9. Intellectual property

The UNC name, logo, app, and website content are owned by UNC and protected by intellectual property law. You keep ownership of content you submit, and grant us a licence to host and display it as needed to run the Service.

10. Service availability and changes

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue features. Where a change materially affects you, we will give reasonable notice in the app or by email.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, UNC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for lost profits or lost opportunity, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

You accept the specific risks that come with an early-stage blockchain project: pre-mainnet balances may never have value, timelines may move, regulation may change, and on-chain transfers cannot be reversed. Do not participate with funds you cannot afford to lose.

12. Disputes

If something goes wrong, contact us first — most issues are resolved far faster that way than through a formal process. If we cannot resolve it within 60 days, the dispute will be settled by binding arbitration under the rules of a recognised arbitral institution, seated in the jurisdiction of UNC's incorporation, unless mandatory consumer law in your country gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts. Claims must be brought individually, not as part of a class action, to the extent that restriction is enforceable where you live.

13. Changes to these Terms

We update the date at the top when these Terms change. For material changes we will give at least 14 days' notice in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms; if you do not, you may close your account.

14. Contact

These Terms are a plain-language framework, not a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction. UNC should have them reviewed by counsel in each market it operates in before relying on them.
