Google Play shows the exact download size for your device on the listing page. Mining data lives on the network rather than on your phone, so the app does not grow significantly as you use it.

Repackaged Android apps are a common way to distribute credential-stealing malware, and an app that looks identical to this one can behave nothing like it. If a link did not come from this site or the official listing, do not install it.
Not yet. UNC is Android-only at present, and an iOS build is in development. This page will list it when it actually ships rather than collecting sign-ups against a date we cannot commit to. Any iPhone app claiming to be UNC today is not ours.
Network access, so the app can talk to the network at all, and notifications, so it can remind you about sessions. Camera access is requested only if you choose to complete identity verification, since that step involves photographing a document. UNC does not need access to your contacts, SMS or call logs, and an app in this category requesting those is worth uninstalling.
Yes, because the network is built around one verified person per identity, which is not something an anonymous install can establish. Account creation takes a moment, and you can start your first session immediately afterwards. Identity verification is a separate step you can complete later.
In most cases, yes. Because no cryptographic work runs on your device, UNC does not need a fast processor or a large battery to function — the requirements are closer to a messaging app than to anything demanding. Google Play will tell you definitively whether your specific device is supported.
Installing UNC costs nothing and commits you to nothing, but there are a few things worth knowing before you do, because they are easier to read now than to discover later.
The first is what you are getting. UNC is pre-mainnet. Sessions accrue a pending balance that converts one-to-one to on-chain UNC when the network launches, and until then that balance has no market price, cannot be sold or traded, and cannot be converted into cash. It may never be worth anything. Nothing about installing the app changes that, and anyone telling you a pre-mainnet balance is worth a specific amount of money is not describing a real market.
The second is what it costs you. There is no purchase, no deposit and no subscription, and there is no paid tier that mines faster. The only thing you spend is a few seconds a day opening a session. Because no cryptographic work runs on your handset, you are not spending battery or generating heat either, which is the practical difference between this and an app that genuinely tries to hash on a phone.
The third is where to get it. Google Play is the only place we distribute the Android app. We do not publish APKs to mirror sites, we do not send installers over messaging apps, and we do not run early-access builds that arrive through a link. Repackaged Android apps are one of the more common ways credential-stealing malware reaches people, and a counterfeit build can look identical to the real one while behaving nothing like it.
The fourth is what we will never ask you for. Not your recovery passphrase, not your password, not a PIN, and not a one-time code — not during setup, not during verification, and not through support. There is no legitimate process at UNC that requires any of them, so a request for one is always someone attempting to take your account, however convincing the message looks.
The fifth is that you can leave whenever you like. Account deletion is available inside the app under Profile, then Account and Security, and it removes your account and its associated data rather than merely hiding it. What has to be retained for legal reasons is set out in the privacy policy. There is no notice period, no penalty for leaving, and nothing you need to forfeit on the way out, because there was never anything to pay in.
None of this is meant to talk you out of installing it. It is meant to make sure that if you do, you are doing it with an accurate picture — which is the only basis on which anyone should join something like this.
